Spring Fresh Shrug – Finished

Yarn: Lion Brand Romance in Lavender
Pattern: Spring Fresh Shrug by Lion Brand
Needles: Denise size 15, 17, and 19
Gauge: 8 sts = 4″ in garter, as stated in pattern

I finally finished the shrug! It had taken me only 2 days to knit up half of it, but then another 2 months to finish it! Haha. The yarn is super soft and the shrug feels really good on me. It’s so lightweight I almost don’t notice it, but the mohair makes it really warm! The sleeves came out really long, so I’ve decided to roll it up where the ribbing is. The fabic is so soft and drapey that it won’t hold the roll, so eventually I’ll go back and sew it permanently in place. Also, I probably should block it, but I’m not entirely sure how to pin it down yet since it’s in such a 3D shape.

The pattern, as with a lot of other patterns from Lion Brand, is only so-so. There wasn’t any schematic diagrams included, so I was confused until half way through the pattern as to what parts I was knitting. Also, it come came in one size, and the size wasn’t noted on the pattern, so I never really knew if it’d fit me or not. I do like the finished products, but I’m not sure if I will knit anything from the Lion Brand website again.

Too bad it was so hot today because I really wanted to wear it out. Oh well – hopefully there’ll still be that cool spring morning for me to wear it once or twice before summer hits full force.

Oooh so pretty! It will be nice for the cool summer evenings. I’m knitting a shawl for the express purpose of keeping me warm at the drive in this summer 😀

    Congrats on the FO!

Thanks, Heather! I know you already said you would post progress pics of your shawl, but I can’t wait! Is it the candle flame shawl? I’ve been eyeing the scarf version and wanting to knit it and dye it like they had on the site. Maybe seeing your progress will give me the nudge I need 🙂

Hi! Cute shrug. I knit one out of ribbon yarn. It’s really a jacket, and it’s fun.
