About Me

Just a short introduction about myself. I’m an accounting student at the University of Tennessee. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in May, and then I’ll start graduate school this following August. I’m Chinese-American – I was born in Macau but moved to the US when I was 11. I’ve been married for 3 years. My dear husband is an artist and so is wonderfully helpful in matching yarn colors for me. Other than knitting, I also enjoy singing, dancing (ballet and ballroom), and figure skating.

I’m at the same time a new knitter and and an old knitter. I learned to knit when I was about 8 from my grandma. Of course, having little to no patience, I promptly dropped it. I picked the hobby back up a couple of years ago; however, I moved overseas temporarily and stupidly didn’t bring my knitting tools with me. Now that I’m back, I’m really jumped into the hobby seriously. It’s all I can think of nowadays.

The reason why this blog is called A Book and Some Yarn is because I usually knit with a book in my lap. Sounds enjoyable, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, the book is almost never an enjoyable novel, but often a textbook that I’m trying to catch up on my assigned reading. Hopefully, one day this blog’s name will change to something like A Movie and Some Yarn or at least A Novel and Some Yarn.

I also have a personal life blog at http://bdeitrick.blogspot.com.
