Isabella Finished

I’ve been really busy lately with life (see life blog) so I haven’t had much time to knit. This explains my serious lack of blogging – because I don’t have anything to blog about!

Anyhow, tomorrow is the first home football game of the season at the University of Tennessee, and Isabella is conveniently bright orange (our school color), so it prompted me to finish it up. Of course, it has been finished seaming and just sitting in a bag waiting for me to block for a while.

Pattern: Isabella
Yarn: 4 balls of Knit Picks Palette in Apricot
Needles: Susan Bates Size 3
Size: M (actual bust: 36″)
Gauge: 27 sts = 4″ in stockinette

I followed the pattern entirely. It turned out just a bit too short for my liking, but since it was 100% wool, I just blocked it rigorously to stretch it to a full 24″ length. It fits me quite nicely, with about 1″ of negative ease. Somehow the bust turned out to be 36″ inches instead of the 39″, but I’m glad because 39″ would have been a tent on me.

I love this sweater! It’s incredibly lightweight (only about 6 oz), fits me well, and very versatile in terms of weather. I wore it today when it was about 85 degrees outside and it was fine despite the fact that it is 100% wool. I think that’s because it’s made out of fingering weight which makes it thin and breathable. I also don’t need an undershirt with it because it’s just opaque enough. I love it!

Next I’m going to try to finish up a gift and my hubby’s cardigan, then maybe I’ll start something else.
