My hubby loves Wario. Whenever we play Mario Party, he’s always Wario, and he always wins. Because of his love and devotion (to Wario and me), I decided to make him a Wario Pulsewarmer to show his Wario-pride.

It’s knit in the round with a provisional cast on. The top and bottom edges are grafted together on the inside so that it is 2 layers of fabric. The yarn is Lion Brand Microspun. It’s knit with Denise sz 5 needles. I didn’t measure gauge because the pulsewarmer is basically as big as a gauge swatch would have been.
I designed the pattern and hubby did the chart. As it was my first free-form knit, it was a total flop. I started knitting it in the round, and then realized that it had color work involved. Stupidly, instead of frogging, I just kept knitting and did Fair Isle & Intarsia in the round. Somehow, it worked even though it was my first color project! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy how it came out.

lol @ Wario!!
I love it!
What’s wrong with doing colors in the round?

Well, fair isle actually works better in the round, but intarsia doesn’t.
What happened is I would knit with the yellow, and then switch to the white. In the round, that means that the white will be left hanging on the left side when I continued knitting with the yellow. Once I completed the round, the white is now on the opposite side of where the color needs to be picked up. Basically, I had to knit in short rows to keep it in the round and do intarsia at the same time.
I should have just frogged and knit it flat
