Already finished projects

Here are some of my earlier finished projects. I started out making lots of scarves because they’re easy. The first picture are 3 different scarves I made for myself. The pink one is the first thing I ever crocheted. The khaki one I made in Japan when I fell in love with the yarn at the dollar store. The orange fuzzy one I made for going to football games when it’s chilly. The second picture is a striped one for my husband that I crocheted a long time ago. It was way too wide. The third picture is another scarf for my husband that is too wide. I found this funky bulbous yarn at the coolest dollar store in Japan. I made a little hole in it so you can slip it through itself.

After the scarves, I also crocheted a poncho and an afghan as Christmas presents for my two sisters-in-law.

I don’t have pictures the poncho though.

Here are some of my more recent projects:

A vest from The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns. This was the first thing I learned shaping and seaming with. It’s a nice basic vest, but nothing that interesting about it.

A chullo hat for my husband and a matching Calorimetry from Knitty. I had to adjust the Calorimetry pattern down because it was getting to be too wide. I think my guage was way off, but it wasn’t too clear because the guage was written in 2×2 rib “lightly strechted,” which I didn’t really understand. I think I’m going to try it again.

A whip from Naughty Needles. A friend and I got together and made it in about 30 minutes. It was such good fun. We’re not sure what we’re going to do with it, other than hang it on the wall and make it look menacing. I liked working with the leather lace though – it was so different than yarn!

That’s all for now.
